 Your
first visit will include a comprehensive oral examination.
First, your doctor will listen to your concerns and
desires to better formulate a personally-tailored treatment
plan. A thorough medical history, soft tissue exam,
oral cancer screening, and periodontal evaluation will
follow.
The
periodontal evaluation includes documenting your gingiva
level, assessing plaque and calculus levels, diagnosing
periodontal disease, and planning periodontal maintenance
or further treatment. Digital images will be taken to
aid in the diagnosis, and any past x-rays you supply
will be used to compare past and present conditions.
All existing fillings, decay, and needed work will then
be evaluated.
A cosmetic consultation will also be given, addressing
any of your concerns and desires, and putting the priority of esthetics
in perspective. For patients desiring cosmetic treatment,
before and after photos of completed cases are presented
so that you may see what results can be expected. Through
a computer imaging system, we can use your photo and
enhance it to show you what you will look like after
cosmetic treatment.
A
full, comprehensive treatment plan will be presented
and further treatment will be discussed with your full
participation. With all of our new patients’ records
being fully computerized, your full evaluation, treatment
plan, fees, and timing of treatment is charted and easily
accessible.
