What is Endodontics?

Endodontics,
more commonly known as root canal, is the prevention, diagnosis
and treatment of disorders of the dental pulp (the soft tissue
inside the tooth). The pulp contains nerves, blood vessels,
and connective tissue, which are important in tooth development.
A root canal treatment is a safe and effective means of saving
the original damaged tooth.
What
is an Endodontist?
An
endodontist is a root canal specialist. A specialist has at
least two years of training after dental school, focused on root canals,
treating injuries, diseases and infections associated with
the nerves and blood vessels of the tooth pulp.
