Onlay Restorative Dentistry

An onlay dental restoration is similar to an inlay, but extending
out over one or more of the cusps of the tooth. Onlays are indicated
in situations where a substantial reconstruction is required,
however a certain amount of tooth structure can be conserved
rather than placing a crown.
The treatment steps involved in onlay preparation and placement
are similar to those required for inlays.
