The
pulp of a tooth (the soft tissue in the center comprised
mainly of nerves and blood vessels) becomes infected
or dies. |

The
pulp is removed and the canals are cleaned, enlarged and
shaped. The tooth is then allowed to heal and it can subsequently
be restored with a filling or crown. |
